Gradually the dust is settling after the elections and the inevitable hiatus as new councillors learn the ropes and old ones learn or re-learn new roles. After years being involved with finance, school transport appeals and planning I will now be a member of the Licencing Committee again and a completely new role on Health Overview and Scrutiny – I’ve got a lot to learn in that role but I am looking forward to it!
I don’t imagine that I will have a break from Planning except that I will be one of the Councillors speaking on behalf of residents rather than a decision maker.
Currently I am busy supporting Tarpfest, the festival of music, art, food and drink that happens shortly. Tarporley has so much to offer and I am very keen that we enjoy it and share it. Its fun, its good for community spirit, it supports the High Street businesses and it will be raising money for the new roof for the Tarporley Community Centre. The weather we have been having reminds us all of the importance of a waterproof lid over our heads.
Please join in and enjoy the events. You can find out more here and tickets are available in the Chocolate Shop
